ACL™ for webOS release UPDATE

Thanks for all your patience with our delays over the past few weeks.

We are currently in the process of implementing some fixes which should allow us to issue an ACL Preview version to our Pre-release and Early Access backers for testing next week.

There will be some items outstanding at this stage, but it will be complete enough to allow you to really dive in and and experience most of the benefits of ACL right away, and will serve you well until we finish up the official release version.

Those that have preordered the software through the kickstarter campaign may be eligible to receive this version if Phoenix feels the quality of the product is there; However, those who have purchased through the Phoenix Store will come next.

We are placing the final release date on hold until everything is complete. As it is still to early to say just how long completing the final release will take, but we feel that once we get over this final hump everything will go smoothly.

As always we appreciate all of you standing by our side, please continue to cheer us on as we are so close to completing this project.

Phoenix Trivia Quiz Launched!

Wilmington, DE - Phoenix International Communications (PIC) is pleased to announce the launch of its Phoenix Trivia Contest!

We know you are all excited from the upcoming OpenMobile ACL for webOS and to thank you for the support given to us, we have decided to organize a fun trivia game. The subject? webOS of course!

Answer correctly will give you the chance to win a free license of OpenMobile ACL for webOS (plus other surprises for the hardcore players)!

Starting Monday, September 9th we will release each day a trivia quiz image on Facebook, Twitter and Google+, where you will have to comment/tweet the correct answer!

An important thing to remember: when you comment or tweet the answer, be sure to like and share/retweet/+1 the original trivia question image! If you don't, you will not qualify for the running of that day's point! Each day, a random winner from each social network will be awarded one point and you need five points to win! The random winner will be chosen from the qualified participants who answered the trivia question correctly and shared the trivia question image on the social network. Participants can answer the trivia question on all three social networks to raise their chances, but an individual participant can win a maximum of one point per day.

ACL for webOS Release Schedule

Hi everyone,

It's been a very busy couple weeks since the Kickstarter campaign ended, and we've been hard at work finalizing the plan for the ACL completion and delivery. Over the last 2 weeks we have conducted a comprehensive review of the outstanding issues and improvements that need to be made to ensure that we deliver a solid product that lives up to your expectations. We just finalized the schedule this morning, and wanted to communicate it to you as soon as possible.

As you will see in the following schedule, we will be having significant delays. Originally we had projected conducting the beta testing during June, with the product release to occur at the end of July, however it has become apparent that in order to meet the goals we have set for supported features we will need additional time to complete all the work involved.

In consideration of the many who backed the project on Kickstarter (and through PayPal) we have added a special Kickstarter Backer's Preview to allow those supporters who have already been waiting for so long to get a preview of the software before the final version is completed.

New Release Schedule:

                                      ACL Beta Test Release: August 3rd
                                      ACL Early Access Preview (previously 2 weeks before official release): September 3rd
                                      ACL Pre-Release (previously 1 week before official release): September 10th
                                      ACL Kickstarter Backer's Special Preview: September 17th
                                      ACL Official Release: September 30th

Please accept our sincere apologies for such a major delay. It is not something that we take lightly, and we tried our best to stick to the original timelines as closely as possible, but in the end we believe this delay is unavoidable, and we felt we owe it to you all to let you know about it right away.

Thanks for all the support you have given us - we really appreciate it, and are working extremely hard to make ACL live up to your expectations.

PIC is pleased to announce our corroboration with Zoopda the website from across the world. Together, PIC will be able to raise more funding toward our projects while also broadening the webOS base for users everywhere. The only way we survive is if we unite together, and this is a big step toward what we hope to be an amazing future.

Please don't just look at this as a way to invest money into PIC but also a way to work closer together with developers around the world. The language barrier is only a small problem that we must over come.

Phoenix International Communications Announces Collaboration with OpenMobile World Wide on ACL™ for HP Touchpad Project

Wilmington, DE – Phoenix International Communications (PIC) is excited to announce the launch of a collaborative effort with OpenMobile World Wide aimed at greatly expanding the number of apps available to users of the HP Touchpad tablet.

ACL™ (Application Compatibility Layer™) is a groundbreaking technology which allows Android apps to run on non-Android operating systems with near-native levels of compatibility and performance. The ACL for HP Touchpad project will allow Android apps to appear side by side with native webOS apps and run in cards, allowing HP Touchpad users to run these apps inside the webOS environment. The ACL for HP Touchpad is currently under active development and is scheduled to be officially released for consumers to purchase and download in time for TouchPad consumers to enjoy this summer.

PIC has already made a significant investment into the ACL for HP Touchpad project, and is intending to supplement this with a crowd-funding campaign to raise the amount needed to complete the project. The campaign is currently running on Kickstarter at the following link:

Expand the capabilities of the HP Touchpad by giving it the power to run Android Apps in webOS!!!

Hello webOS lover, we have recently started a kickstarter campaign to bring android apps in webOS on the HP Touchpad.

There’s a lot of work to be done, but together we have the technology, we have the engineers, we have the determination, and with the community’s backing we will have the funding to finally address the Touchpad’s “App Gap” and give its owners the total experience they’ve been waiting so long for.

PIC welcomes LG to the webOS world

We are excited to see that LG has seen the value and potential of webOS, and we remain committed to developing webOS technology and devices.

We have already started dialogue with LG, and although they have only committed to TV's at this point, we are encouraged by their enthusiasm for webOS.

As always our main priority is to speed the return of mobile webOS devices to the market, and are looking forward to seeing where we can work together with them and other partners to make that happen.
